Frequently asked questions
Can anyone visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar?
Yes. The Harmandir Sahib welcomes people of every faith, entry is free, and the langar serves a free meal to all, day and night. Cover your head, remove your shoes and wash your feet before entering the complex.
When is Hemkund Sahib open?
Hemkund Sahib usually opens in late May and closes in early October, when snow returns. The final climb from Ghangaria is about 6 km and steep, and pilgrims must register with Uttarakhand Tourism, which we arrange.
Is the Kartarpur Corridor open?
The corridor to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan depends on relations between India and Pakistan and has been suspended at times. It requires advance registration on the government portal. We confirm its status before you travel and offer an alternative day if it is closed.
How much does the Sikh Heritage Trail cost?
The Sikh Heritage Trail is priced on enquiry. The cost depends on your travel dates, group size, hotel category and any extras such as private rituals or a personal guide. Send an enquiry and a specialist will reply with a tailored quote.

The standard itinerary is 8 days. It can be shortened or extended to suit you.
When is the best time for the Sikh Heritage Trail?
October to March for Amritsar; June to September for Hemkund Sahib
How demanding is the Sikh Heritage Trail?
The pace is moderate. It is ideal for sikh families and anyone drawn to seva and langar.
